Volume 10 Chapter 32 Exciting Flight Race With Monster's Children
I'm flying on Fafnir, and animals riding on Mer-Mer are chasing close to me and Mr. Lucian.
They look so brave and cute that it almost makes me want to cry.
"Ev, everyone, you're so cute... You've grown so well..."
As I'm moved, wondering if this is what it means to leave the nest, Mr. Lucian says, "They may be small now, but they're the children of a Witch who had the power to destroy kingdoms, so flying in the sky is nothing for them."
"But they're small right now."
"They eat Lydia's cooking every day. They should grow quickly, right?"
"Wh-what should we do? They might not fit in Lobelia since they're originally big..."
"Maybe you should move to a place where everyone can live together."
"That sounds good! I wonder where would be nice... Is it not okay to stay in the Holy Capital? I feel a bit lonely thinking about leaving Arsubania..."
"I'll go with you, Lydia."
"Mr. Lucian too?"
"Yeah. I'm your sword and shield. Protecting you is my reason for living."
Mr. Lucian, holding the control stick, lightly pulls my waist closer as I grab onto the railing near the boarding area in the middle of Fafnir.
"Lydia, over here."
"I won't fall, it's okay."
"I want to enjoy you sometimes too. Is that not allowed?"
"Um... Mr. Lucian, do you really dislike going to Kirschtein?"
Mr. Lucian seems a bit different than usual.
Now that I think about it, it's been a long time since it was just the two of us like this.
Usually, Eir-Eir and the others are around, along with everyone from Leonsroar, Sir Rail, and Sir Roxas.
When I just opened Lobelia, the only customers were Mr. Lucian and Mx. Margaret.
It feels nostalgic.
"I don't dislike it. In fact, I'm happy to be alone with you."
Pulled in by Mr. Lucian, I easily find myself embraced in his arm.
To not fall──right?
The military uniform of Leonsroar has a faint sweet scent, like flowers basking in the sunlight.
"Um, Mr. Lucian, I'm not falling!"
"Let's see. I'll speed up a bit. The kids seem to want that."
Glancing at Eir-Eir and the others, they're definitely all piled up, caught by Mer-Mer, looking straight ahead. That's the face of speed junkies...!
"Wow, you all are really motivated!"
It seems like a shining barrier, created by my dad's mysterious power, is wrapped around Mer-Mer's whole body, keeping the little Eir-Eirs from being blown away by the wind.
"Kyuu~!"
Mer-Mer let out a cute sound and increased speed.
Fafnir is also faster than before.
Our clothes and hair are flapping in the wind, making it hard to talk.
Mr. Lucian is holding me with one hand and flying at an incredible speed toward the old Kirschtein.
Mer-Mer and the others are happily following behind.
Mer-Mer really feels like a dragon that once destroyed a kingdom.
Fafnir is keeping up well with its not-so-big body.
Fafnir landed in the Kirschtein area of the old Kirschtein town.
It's a place separated from the area where the Bernard people live, giving off a calm impression with few colors.
Mr. Lucian, who landed first, lets me down from Fafnir.
"Wow, that was fast..."
"Are you feeling sick?"
"I'm fine, it was fun!"
As soon as my feet hit the ground, I wobbled a bit.
It feels like the ground is swaying.
Mr. Lucian takes my hand and hugs me to keep me from falling.
I giggled in his arms, enjoying the feeling of having chased around in the sky with Mer-Mer and the others.
"Mer-Mer, everyone! Hehe, that was amazing, so fast, so fast!"
Mer-Mer, who landed next to Fafnir a little late, along with the proud Eir-Eir and Ms. Famine, and the slightly droopy Nel-Nel and Med, I lifted up.
"Dad, are you okay? Dad, you're getting old, so you shouldn't go too fast."
"I'm not... old, but it's fine. I can fly faster on my own."
"Dad, you're so competitive... dogs can't fly in the sky, you know."
Puppies don't have wings. I lifted up Dad as well. I also picked up Mer-Mer, who had returned to her small form.
My hands were getting full.
"Sir Lucis Anthem! Saint-sama!"
We landed in the square of Kirschtein town, and we definitely stood out.
Among the people who were looking at us with surprised faces from a distance, a man came running toward us, calling Mr. Lucian's real name.
