Volume 6 Chapter 53 Blessings Of Healing To You

Volume 6 Chapter 53 Blessings Of Healing To You

A huge vibration that feels like it's shaking the whole country continues intermittently.

The trees in the forest and the animals are all rustling.

Many birds from the Edelstein mountains take off into the sky, while deer and rabbits dash across the plains, trying to escape from something terrifying.

Mr. Lucian firmly supports me as I sway and feel like I'm about to fall.

Clifford supports Sir Galeon, and the people of Gem's People huddle together, anxiously staring at Edelstein.

A transparent membrane wrapping the town cracks with a sharp *crack*.

To fix the distortion, more layers of new membranes wrap around the town.

Inside the membrane, a bright red light fills the space, so dazzling that I feel like my eyes might burn if I stare too long.

My eyes ache. It's not just because of the brightness──it's because I can tell that Sir Ciel is struggling within the town.

 I'm guided into a dream by Nel-Nel.

It's probably Nel-Nel's memory. What Nel-Nel saw while merging with Sir Ciel.

Sir Stefan said that young Sir Ciel spent all his time in the same room as his sick mother.

In the memory, Sir Ciel sits on an old, dusty sofa in a dark, empty room, hugging his knees.

He must have spent time in that room, just watching his sick mother grow weaker.

It's a painful, cruel memory. It's not surprising if his heart broke from it.

Still, Sir Ciel chose not to hate or resent anyone, opting to live rightly.

As Elder Brother Chrisrain said, instead of trying to erase the tomatoes he disliked or shouting about his hatred, he kept those feelings locked deep inside.

Sir Ciel is a strong person.

Strong, yet he doesn't try to protect my heart or himself.

I think he must have been suffering all along.

It got to the point where I couldn't even realize how painful it was.

I'm really happy that Sir Ciel, who seemed to have locked away his heart deep inside and put a key on it, cherished the memories with me.

I think I caused Sir Ciel a lot of trouble.

 He always helped me.

I was always crying in front of Sir Ciel.

But in Sir Ciel's memories, I was always smiling and looking happy.

It made me glad to know that I could smile like that in his eyes.

──With a bang like the biggest final firework, a huge vibration shook the world.

Light spilled out from a transparent membrane, coloring the world white.

I tightly closed my eyes and clutched Mr. Lucian's military uniform.

Mr. Lucian wrapped my body in both hands, as if to shield me from the light.

 "Are you okay, Lydia!"

 "Is everyone alright!"

Mr. Lucian's voice, along with Sir Stefan's, echoed across the meadow.

As the light settled, the transparent membrane that had wrapped around the town shattered like glass.

With a release of the power that had been held down in the town, a strong wind whipped through the meadow, blowing our hair and skirts wildly.

After the wind calmed down, it was just quiet.

The area that had been bright as midday with the overwhelming light was shifting from a burning sunset to a night filled with deep blue, red, and purple.

The stars shining in the night sky were incredibly beautiful, and the red moon and white moon shone brightly, looking completely indifferent to what had happened on the ground.

 Everyone was frozen in place.

Even Sir Galeon was holding his breath, staring at the scene before him.

A beautiful, shining beast with emerald green wings was racing towards us from the sky above Edelstein.

 "That is..."

"It's a dragon. That is... a monster that appeared in the Kingdom a few years ago. The Fairy dragon that will destroy the world."

 Mr. Lucian said quietly.

Fairy dragon. I've heard that somewhere before.

That was definitely the monster that made Sir Ciel be called the Mysterious Demon King. The terrifying monster that Sir Ciel defeated.

 But it was so beautiful.

It truly deserved the name fairy. With shining wings and a body wrapped in particles of light. Fluffy body fur.

It looked like there were countless jewels embedded in its wings. A beautiful, majestic, and terrifying sight.

The fairy dragon quietly landed in front of us.

Right in front of the dragon's body, Sir Ciel lay there, floating.

Wrapped in particles of magical power, Sir Ciel was gently lowered to the grassland. The fairy dragon shrank down smoothly into the form of a small, adorable beast and curled up next to Sir Ciel.

 "Sir Ciel!"

I slipped out of Mr. Lucian's arms and rushed over to Sir Ciel.

Kneeling beside the lying Sir Ciel, I hugged him tightly.

"Sir Ciel, welcome back, Sir Ciel... please wake up, wake up, open your eyes...!"

Sir Ciel's exposed body was covered in large cracks and many tiny fissures.

A part of his body was broken and deeply gouged. It was a wonder he was still alive, looking so close to falling apart.

The cross-section peeking through the cracks was made of jewels, glowing red, weakly shining.

If that glow was life force, then it was weak, and it was fading away.

There was a large crack in his chest, and the beautiful, large red jewel that was his heart was cruelly cracked, exposed.

 "...I'm glad you're safe."

Sir Ciel, with his eyes barely open, whispered in a small voice.

With a crackling sound, the number of cracks entering Sir Ciel's body increased.

On his fingers, arms, body. On his neck, cheeks.

It was breaking. At this rate, Sir Ciel would shatter and crumble.

 He would disappear.

"No, no... I don't want this, I hate this...!"

Tears streamed down my face. I didn't know what to do.

My body trembled. I had to do something. But I couldn't think of anything.

Losing a life is so scary. I'm afraid that Sir Ciel will disappear.

"Sir Ciel, no... please stay with me, with everyone... you promised you wouldn't die... I can't laugh without you, I can't even cook..."

Sir Ciel tried to say something, opening his lips.

But the words came out as a faint breath, and when he looked down, a gentle smile appeared on his face.

His lips moved. There's still time. I can heal Sir Ciel's body with my power.

 I──

But my body and heart were shaking, and I couldn't weave my magic properly.

 "Big sis..."

Rosamia ran over to me from among Gem's People.

In Rosamia's hand was the Eir-Eir drop I had given her.

The drop made with my magic held my power.

"When I ate the drop, Dad and everyone's wounds healed. The scary feelings went away. So..."

 She offered me the drop.

I nodded and took it, putting it in my mouth, then pressed my lips against Sir Ciel's, pushing the melted drop into his mouth.
