Volume 1 Chapter 28-2 a Changing World. However, It Is Only the Fool Who Shows His Face That Changes

"Yeah, the necessary negotiations are almost done."

 "I've finished my work too!"

In walked 2 of Horace's apprentices.

Their names are Ellie and Ramella.

Ellie is a black-haired beauty rocking a pantsuit.

Like the others, she has a great figure and a blank expression, which just adds to her 'beautiful aura'.

She's carrying an attaché case, strong career woman vibes for sure.

Ramella, on the other hand, is wearing just a tank top up top.

Below, she's got shorts and sneakers, giving off a pretty revealing look. A red-haired cutie.

She might be next to expressionless Ellie, but you can totally see she's bursting with energy.

She's got a Smith hammer at her hip, so she's probably a blacksmith.

Oh, and she refers to herself as 'me (ore)'.

"I heard you 3 went into a dungeon when you went to the mansion, so I thought you were practicing, and it seems I was right."

"Master is really strong. If Ellie fights, she'll know."

"It's an armored type weapon. What are you supposed to do with a sniper rifle?"

"Hmm, my hammer... I don't think it'll even dent it."

 "Not a scratch on it."

 "So strong!"

While they were chatting, they grouped up in the center of the boss room.

When Tiaris snapped her fingers, a round table and 5 chairs appeared.

Must be an Item Box or something like that.

The two pistols are nowhere to be seen, so they probably got stored in there.

 "Let's prepare some snacks."

"I can take care of the sweets."

Horace made a 'whirl' nearby, dipped his hand inside, and pulled out a plate stacked with fresh-baked biscuits and 5 cups filled with freshly poured tea.

"Huh... Did you make these in advance and just put them in the Item Box at the right time?"

At Tiaris's question, Horace shook his head.

"It's not exactly an Item Box... In my case, I've shoved a 'storage golem' into another dimension. Plus, I've also put a 'snack-making golem' in there that can connect with it."

"What kind of tech is that?"

 "You're asking that now?"

Rangella sighed, and Ellie coldly chimed in.

"Yeah, I can't do anything that complicated."

The 4 disciples thought, 'Aren't we starting trouble with the candy makers of the world?' but decided not to pry.

"By the way, it took you two a while to meet up."

"I was busy making weapons everywhere. In the places hit hardest by the Demon Lord's invasion, there aren't enough men, so we can't just focus on numbers. We have to improve the quality."

You can tell Rameru is a blacksmith because she's holding a smithing hammer.

And what she said is true: even after the Demon Lord is dead, the power of control lingers, so even after defeating the Demon Lord, manpower won't return.

The refugees gathered at the Diamante Kingdom still haven't returned to their home countries, so nearby nations are short on people and have no choice but to enhance the quality of each individual.

That must be why they were delayed.

"I was dealing with debt matters. That said, in areas that suffered greatly, we're providing a lot of magical tools at low prices and giving substantial financial aid, you know?"

"I see, so for areas with less damage, it's about debt."

"There's no point in giving aid. Many countries can't prepare what we want."

 "That's true."

It's not a charity, and besides, the Luster Report reflects Horace's philosophy of 'not caring about the morality of good and evil,' so they don't really mind what others say.

Of course, there are individual differences, and they won't just ignore the increasing numbers of starving and sick people, so they must be distributing help everywhere.

"Speaking of which, hasn't there been more movement of people lately? Before I got here, there were quite a few shared carriages passing by."

"I looked into it on my end. It seems like a lot of Adventurers are on the move."

 "Adventurers?"

"Thanks to the Adventurers' guild, they maintain neutrality towards nations, but they're not completely unrelated. Depending on the state of the nation, there will inevitably be places where Adventurers can't operate easily."

"Exactly. We also had a lot of trouble with different 'gaps' during our journey."

"In short... The Diamante Kingdom and the Chaos Stone Dragonstone Kingdom don't owe any debts to the Luster Report, so they don't get squeezed as much. It's easier for adventurers to work there. Both have plenty of dungeons, so there's no shortage of places to make money."

"Of course, among the countries at the 'world conference,' only the kingdoms and the Dragonstone Kingdom currently have no debts to the Luster Report. There are other debt-free nations, too."

"More like... the conference itself pushes for 'independence from gods,' so countries with strong religious ties aren't even showing up at that thing."

"Some big nations are part of the Theocracy Nation, and among them, a few don't owe any money to the Luster Report either."

"But unless they're swinging around holy swords or some other special weapon, most adventurers think Bloodline Nations are easier to move in."

"People are naturally drawn to places where the population can be managed, so Diamante and Chaos Stone are definitely magnets."

 "Adventurers, lots of 'em, huh..."

"The problem is, after we, originally just commoners, defeated the Demon Lord, some folks are kind of getting full of themselves. You see it everywhere──'there are a lot of cocky adventurers now,' they say."

"Hmm... I see... I get it..."

Horace had his own thoughts but kept quiet.

"In the end... in the end, what it boils down to is: Your Majesty Valzeil, keep it up. Just... keep going."

 "That's right."

 Valzeil.

 Poor thing...
