Volume 5 Chapter 34 ACT.165 Ripple (III)
"──So, how is she?"
In one of their secret houses in the town, Reggie Grave anxiously asks Karen as she returns from another room.
"I treated her well, so she'll be fine. But she was in a lot of pain and had a fever, so I gave her some sedatives and let her sleep."
Hearing this, he feels a wave of relief, but he doesn't show it.
Instead, he bites his lip in regret and sorrow.
It was Reggie who gave the orders this time.
Based on the information extracted from a captured spy, he planned to lure out the bugs hiding in the town and deal with them all at once.
The bugs hiding in the town──spies from the Kingdom of Saint Ruvous.
The dragon they were hiding had the potential to be a powerful weapon, depending on how it was used.
Reggie and his team knew that the hunters were sniffing around, aware of the rumors about its existence.
But they were *just humans*, after all.
Even if they banded together, they wouldn't stand a chance against a Reincarnator with a cheat ability.
"She may be small, but she has a pretty strong cheat ability. It's surprising that she got taken down."
It was unexpected, but Reggie felt ashamed of his own incompetence for this mistake.
Watching her leader, Karin rests her chin on her hand, deep in thought.
"The one she faced must have been a Purge Knight from the Holy Church. Otherwise, there's no way she would have been caught off guard."
"*What a fool*."
Reggie responds to Karin's words with that remark.
His reaction is quite strange.
From the Reincarnator's perspective, the first name that comes to mind as an enemy is the Purge Knight.
The Purge Knight is truly no exaggeration when they say that wherever a Reincarnator is, those guys are bound to show up as the worst, most formidable enemy.
In fact, compared to the Kingdom's hunting hounds that we're trying to exterminate this time, they're more likely to turn up as the real troublemakers.
A foolish reaction like that shouldn't be possible in the first place.
But there was a clear reason for it.
"──There shouldn't have been any *insider* info from that woman, right?"
