Volume 5 Chapter 36 ACT.167 Three Swords William Gradius (I)
In Shaura, the most historic building is the arena, a true symbol of the town.
Young and old, everyone would agree with that.
So, what is the next oldest building?
Anyone living in the town, regardless of age, would answer that right away.
It is the old mansion of the Gradius family, a great noble who has long helped Shaura grow and has strong trust from the king, even influencing the kingdom's politics.
──The ancient mansion of the Gradius family.
Built mainly from stone, the mansion feels more like a small castle than just a house.
This is likely because it was built in a time when the Kingdom was not as peaceful as it is now.
In fact, it has been a long time since its strong structure was truly needed.
──Until today.
Suddenly, the mansion became noisy in the afternoon, and the elder of the Gradius family heard it from the sunny sunroom.
The head of the family, William Gradius, is one of the highest powers in Shaura, known as the Three Swords.
In his youth, he was a strong warrior, with broad shoulders, white hair, and a white beard, but now he is an old man with a rugged face.
Even as he ages, he carries a strict and dignified presence, feeling more like a seasoned warrior than a weak old man.
Hearing the urgent voices of servants and guards from afar, he quietly set his cup back on the saucer.
"That was quicker than I expected."
Just after he muttered to himself, the door to the sunroom burst open.
Two young men entered, ignoring the servants and guards trying to stop them, almost dragging them along.
The one with a rural face was unknown to the elder, but he recognized the other well.
"Oh, did you make an appointment today, Prince?"
"Sorry, I seem to have lost my temper."
The elder raised an eyebrow and spoke provocatively, while the young man called Prince──Belta──responded calmly, despite mentioning his anger.
"Well then──what do you mean by double standards, Elder?"
