The day after the New Year's Eve dinner party is New Year's Day.

'Oh, my level went up? Maybe when I get older, my level goes up too? Just a fluke? I'll ask Benjamin later.'
He examined his Status Board, pondering the level-up and the changes in his stats.
'But still, my MP is still broken. Even with limits, it's over 2000. If I use this Mana for "Circulation" and then "Release," I could become a S-rank too.'
He imagined himself doing the "Release" like Benjamin had shown him.
'Aside from INT, everything else went up by 2 or 3. I guess that's what happens when you level up once? How high can you max out your stats, I wonder?'
Cain's gamer brain was tingling.
"Morning, Cain. You're up early as always."
Benjamin squinted at the bright morning sun, talking to him.
"Good morning, Elder Brother Ben. It feels nice to start the new year."
Cain paused to look at the status board and greeted Benjamin back.
"Hey? Cain, let me see your 'Mana Absorber' arm for a sec."
Benjamin noticed something and asked to check Cain's 'Mana Absorber.'.
Doing as told, Cain showed his arm with the 'Mana Absorber' to Benjamin.
The stone on the 'Mana Absorber' was glowing red, not blue.
"Cain, did your level go up, maybe?"
Benjamin confirmed while looking at the 'Mana Absorber.'.
"You guessed it well. I checked earlier and my level did go up. Does the level increase as you get older?"
He asked the question he had been thinking about earlier.
"Levels don't just go up from aging. In your case, it's probably because you trained enough to gain the [Mana Control] skill. By the way, is your MP still 20?"
"Yes, my MP is 20."
He answered, wondering what else Benjamin would ask.
"I see, so your level went up and your MP increased, which made the 'magic stone' unable to absorb MP anymore. That's why it turned red ahead of schedule. I got scared for a second there, thinking it broke."
Benjamin said this, sounding relieved, then detached the 'Mana Absorber' from Cain's arm and fiddled with it before attaching it back.
The stone on the 'Mana Absorber' glowed blue again.
"Alright, good. So even though it's before breakfast, let's try using some magic."
Benjamin said the words Cain wanted to hear the most.
