The delinquents sit in front of me, straightening up.
"Why do I have to be here...?"
"Just listen! So, Mr. Act, what do you want from us?"
I look around at the delinquents and say,
"I want to ask you all for a job."
The delinquents' eyes shine like children's at that.

"Hey..."
They smile happily.
"We get to work with the legendary bad guy, Mr. Act!"
"I'm so moved...!"
"Mr. Act! So, what kind of bad thing are we doing?"
I look at them and say,
"We're working with the Merchant Guild to build my new Guild hall."
"Huh...?"
The delinquents tilt their heads in confusion.
"Aren't we attacking the Merchant Guild?"
"No."
"Oh, I get it! We're making a dark Guild and doing something crazy!"
"No."
"""Huh, then what are we doing...?"""
"We're setting up a branch of my Guild in the Royal Capital. I want you to help with that."
The delinquents look at each other, then tilt their heads again.
"W-well... we can help, but..."
"I thought we were going to do something big and bad..."
Hmph, I snort.
"The dark world doesn't suit half-hearted little punks like you."
"""W-what!? You call us little punks?!"""
Anger marks appear on their foreheads.
"Mr. Act, you're someone we admire. But... no one can insult us delinquents!"
Donovan and the other delinquents stand up.
"I'm not insulting you. I'm just stating facts. You can't be real bad guys."
"W-what's your proof?!"
"It's simple. Because you're weak."
A moment of silence.
But the delinquents' faces turn bright red with anger.
"You bastard!""Let us say what we want!""You think we're weak!?"
The delinquents are getting fired up.
They clench their fists, ready to throw a punch at any moment.
"Just right. Come at me. I'll show you the difference in our levels."
"W, wait... Mr. Act. Stop it!"
I take off my jacket and get my fists ready.
"If you get hurt, don't blame me!"
Donovan is the first to rush at me.
I twist my body to dodge and hit him in the face with a counter.
"Bugh!"
Donovan spins and falls to the ground.
"Come on, the rest of you. Don't waste my time."
"D, do it, you guys!"
Thud!
Crack!
Bam!
...a little while later.
"You guys can't handle a bad guy."
Looking down at the fallen punks, I sit on a chair and say.
"I know... We're just a bunch of wannabe outlaws. We can't even kill anyone... we're just half-hearted delinquents."
The delinquents start to cry.
"In the end, we're just outcasts of society... nowhere to go..."
Hmph. So you give up and waste your time in this dive bar. What a waste."
"Huh...?"
I look at Donovan.
"You have a strong body. If you learn a strengthening magic, you could be a great vanguard."
I turn to another delinquent.
"You're good with your hands. If you train, you could work in the Merchant Guild. You have a good eye. You..."
I look at each delinquent and point out their strengths.
"W, wait a minute, Mr. Act... how do you know all that?"
Trish says with wide eyes.
"My eyes see everything. I saw your potential in the fight earlier."
"A, amazing... what are you...?"
Trish murmurs, impressed.
"Everyone has hidden strengths. Come to me, and I'll help you."
The delinquents stand up.
"Th, this is bad, Mr. Act... delinquents hate being ordered around... we might get killed next time..."
Ignoring worried Trish, the delinquents bow their heads.
"""Please, use us... boss!"""
"H, huh?"
The delinquents bend over at a 90-degree angle, bowing their heads.
"Fine. Follow me."
