Volume 2 Chapter 2 The Time Spent With Shinonome-San Turned Out To Be A Bit Troublesome In The End
Fortunately, the date with Nakagaito on Saturday went well.
The garden at Sazankaso stays open until 11:00 PM, and we can enjoy watching fireflies freely until then. However, the best time to see the fireflies' light is from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
As high school students, staying out late is a problem, so we finished our stroll in the garden at 9:00 PM, and now we're on the train.
"How was today's date for you, Nakagaito?"
"Yeah, sorry I fell asleep so quickly at the planetarium. But, the light of the fireflies dancing by the waters in the garden of Sazankaso at night was incredibly magical and amazing."
"Oh, it seems they've designed the couple seats in the planetarium so that it's okay to sleep. It seems to be unpopular with people who want to see the starry sky properly though. The light of the fireflies was more beautiful than I expected."
"Yeah, thank you so much."
"Well, Nakagaito was trying hard with various things after all."
While talking like that, we parted ways at Funabashi station.
"See you on Monday."
"Yeah, bye."
I went back home and thought about my plans for tomorrow.
"For my date with Shinonome-san, first, we'll visit the tall Tokyo Sky Tower observation deck and walk in the sky near Kinshicho, then we'll eat lunch at Sky Restaurant Musashi, and finally, we'll see cute penguins at Sumida Aquarium."
I sent a message to Shinonome-san on social media.
[For our trip to Sky Tower tomorrow, it seems the air is fresher and the view is better in the morning, so let's meet at 7:30 am at Keisei Funabashi Station, okay?]
[That sounds good to me.]
[Great, then we'll meet at the ticket gate of Keisei Funabashi at 7:30 am tomorrow.]
[Got it.]
And so, the next morning.
Since we won't be having a fancy dinner buffet at a high-end hotel today, I left home in the stylish outfit that Fumi-chan helped me choose.
I got off at Kenbune Station on the Tobu Line and walked to Keisei Funabashi Station.
I came 10 minutes early to the agreed time of 7:30 am, but Shinonome-san wasn't there.
Well, she doesn't have to arrive earlier than the agreed time.
After about 8 minutes, Shinonome-san arrived.
"Good morning! Did you wait for a long time?"
"Nah, good morning, Shinonome-san. I didn't wait that long because I also arrived about 10 minutes early."
"Yeah, everyone is so serious about coming 15 minutes or 10 minutes early to the meeting place."
"Well, it would be rude if you were late for a meeting for some reason."
"Right now, you can check train delays and arrival times on apps, so you rarely end up being late."
"But weren't you almost late when we hung out before?"

Shinonome-san laughed and brushed it off.
"Well, shall we take the train?"

We moved from Keisei Funabashi Station on the Keisei Line to Asakusa Station and got off the train.
"The weather is nice today, so let's go up from the B3 exit to the surface."
"Well, okay, but isn't it faster to go from Oshiage Station to the underground 3rd floor of Tokyo Sky Tower Town through the connected Sky Tower Town entrance?"
"Well, since we're here, let's go up Soramizaka stairs and see the Sky Arena on the 4th floor."
"Well, if Hata-pippi wants to do that, I'm fine with it too."
So, when we leave the B3 exit, on the left side, there's the East Tower and the entrance to Tokyo Solamachi, and we can also see the towering Sky Tower.
"Wow, looking up at Sky Tower from the outside, it's quite tall, isn't it?"
"Yeah."
Then, climb Soramizaka stairs, and when we reach the top, we'll arrive directly below the Sky Tower.
At Sky Arena, there are quite a few people taking photos and tourists entering Sky Tower from the front entrance.
First, take the elevator up to the Tembo Deck floor 350.
From here, located at a height of 350m above ground, we can overlook Tokyo, and in the distance, we can see Mt. Fuji, and beyond Tokyo Bay, we can even see the Boso Peninsula.
"Shinonome-san, it seems like you can see the area below from here."
Shinonome-san looked down through the glass floor, which was very thick and strong.
"Wow, this is a little scary."
"Yeah, it's a bit scary, but I don't think we'll fall."
After that, we went up to the 445th floor using a see-through elevator from the 350th floor.
"This is really high up."
"Well, it's supposed to be the tallest radio tower in the world."
We kept going up, feeling like we were walking in the air, and reached the 450th floor, where the highest point, "Sorakara Point," is located.
We saw various special events happening in the tower, and today it was related to the movie "Godzilla."
They showed footage of Godzilla on a screen and had things to buy related to the movie.
After enjoying all of this, it was already 11 a.m, so we went down from the tower and had lunch at Sky Restaurant Musashi, which is on the 31st floor of East Yard and has a view of the tower.
"I made a reservation. The name is Hata."
"Yes, we've been waiting for you."
"So, you chose another expensive restaurant, huh?"
"Well, if it's for lunch, it's not that expensive. For lunch, you can choose between salad with bread and a choice of meat or fish. What will you choose?"
"Alright, I'll choose the meat."
"Then, I'll try the fish."
Along with lunch, we also order a dessert assortment called "Amuse Tower," consisting of 8 impressive desserts.
"Wow, this is amazing!"
"It's like a tall tower, with a fancy plate displaying 8 visually appealing desserts."
"Yeah, and they taste incredibly delicious."
It seems many customers use it to celebrate family birthdays and anniversaries, and although it's popular with couples, it creates a nice atmosphere. After enjoying lunch at a relaxed pace, we head to the Sumida Aquarium.
"The main attraction here seems to be the penguins in the large indoor pool-type aquarium, said to be the largest in Japan."
"Penguins, huh?"
Right after entering, there is a space showcasing tropical fish.
"Wow, this place with fish tanks is so pretty, right?"
"Yeah, it is. They do new things here. They make smells and lights cleverly."
There's a big area with goldfish, all themed after old Japan, and a long tunnel with jellyfish designs for the display. It's really cool.
The penguins in the tank, some swim around happily, and others just relax. Each penguin is cute in its own way.
After enjoying the aquarium, we walked along the Sumida River to Sumida Park.
"It was better than I thought. Hata-pippi, you're great!"
Shinonome-san said, smiling.
"Aw, stop it."
Although this place is quiet, it seems to be the perfect place for just two people to have a conversation.
"Let's sit on that bench for a bit."
"Yeah, good idea."
We sat down on the bench.
Then Shinonome-san spoke.
"Hata-pippi, are you working too hard lately?"
"Well, um, maybe a bit. But, I think the effort you put in during high school and college determines your future, so I feel like I should work hard."
"I understand. I think it's impressive how hard you work, Hata-pippi. But, sometimes, how about doing something enjoyable for yourself, not just for others?"
"Huh?"
"Hata-pippi, you worry too much about us. It must be tough for you, right?"
"Yeah, it is."
"Well then, why don't you take a little break now? I'll let you rest your head on my lap."
Saying that, Shinonome-san gently placed my head on her thigh.
"How's that?"
"Hmm, it's soft, and I feel like I could sleep well."
"Hehe, then take a short nap."
As if the tension had been cut, I dozed off. And then suddenly, I woke up.
Shinonome-san seemed to have been watching me sleep, and she smiled mischievously.
"Nishishishi, Good morning, Hata-pippi. Did you sleep well?"
I slowly sat up.
"Well, yeah, my head feels much clearer now. Sorry, Shinonome-san."
"Why are you apologizing?"
"Well, I feel like I've been a burden."
"It's fine, you know? Hata-pippi put a lot of effort into planning our date, so this is a small price to pay. Oh, and..."
"Yeah?"
"You might not be able to say this to other girls, but if you're feeling down or going through a tough time, you can talk to me."
"Huh?"
"Well, I'm usually the more selfish one, right? So I think I should listen to Hata-pippi's selfishness too."
"Hahaha, I see. That makes sense."
"Alright, let's go home for today. But just so you know, my lap pillow doesn't come cheap!"
"Yeah, I got it. Thank you, really."
Shinonome-san is truly a good girl.
