Volume 2 Chapter 4 Is There A Sports Festival? I'm Not Good At Sports, Though

Well, June has returned to normal mode after the midterms, dates, and yakiniku with everyone.

This month is the school sports festival.

For boys, there's soccer, volleyball, and tennis, while girls have basketball, volleyball, and tennis.

Volleyball is a mixed team of three boys and girls each.

For the first-year students who entered in April, team sports are a chance to become friends with classmates, and if boys perform well, they might receive cheers from the girls....

 "A sports festival, huh..."

I sighed and Saikachi-san looked at me with a worried expression.

 "Um, is something wrong?"

"Oh, well. I'm not really good at sports, and I'm worried about slowing down everyone else in the sports festival."

I said that, and Saikachi-san looked at me strangely.

"Eh? Is that so? I thought Hata-kun would smoothly handle that kind of thing."

 Shinonome-san interjected there.

"Well, Hata-pippi wasn't really good at bowling, you know."

 I smiled wryly and replied,

"In fact, I'm not really good at sports, you know. I'm not completely unathletic, but I'm not exactly capable of excelling either, which is kind of awkward."

As I said that, Shinonome-san laughed and said,

"Well, if you were like Hata-pippi, with great communication skills, able to do household chores and customer service jobs, getting perfect scores of 100 out of 100 in all subjects on the midterm exams, and on top of that, good at sports, you would be an absolutely perfect superhuman. It's almost intimidating."

I agree with those words, but my childhood friend who lives next to me seems to be that type, which is kind of interesting.

"But then, in junior high, I used to play soccer and volleyball during lunch break, so it's not like I can't do it, but I was only good enough to be a substitute on the soccer team. Well, those who want to join a strong sports club probably go to schools like Kenbune or Narashino, which are known for their strong athletic programs. This school, on the other hand, is a unique school with a strong influence in cultural clubs, mainly music-related. I don't think I would be holding them back or anything like that."

 And Shinonome-san said,

"If you're worried, why not gather a group of 6 people, 3 men and 3 women, who are friends in volleyball?"

"To notice that... you're really smart."

"Hey, that's not a compliment, is it?"

"Have you been found out? Well, leaving that aside, if we're going to make the group strong with familiar faces..."

"Okay, okay, in that case, I'll play volleyball too!"

 Nakagaito interrupted.

 And next was,

"Um, um, can I join too?"

 Namiki-san asked.

"As for the guys, it's me, Hirose-kun, and Gouriki-kun... right?"

 Saying that, Hirose-kun smiled wryly.

"To willingly include me in your group, Hata-kun, in that respect, it's already..."

"No, it's not a group, okay?"

"Well, let's just go with that."

Since our school has 30 students in each class, all the boys will participate.

"No, if it's volleyball, we won't have to run around the schoolyard in the summer, sliding and getting covered in dust and mud, so it should be a bit easier, I think."

Actually, playing soccer involves a lot of running around, so it can be tiring.

"Okay, let's give our best in the sports competition with this team."

I said that, and Shinonome-san confidently replied,

 "Count on me."

On the other hand, Namiki-san doesn't seem to have much confidence.

"I'm sorry if I end up slowing everyone down."

"Well, the purpose of this event is to strengthen our bonds, so even if we don't win, as long as we have fun, it's okay, right?"

Gouriki-kun said that when I mentioned it.

"Then, I'll give my best too."

"Still, winning would be amazing, of course."

So, we decided to give our best for the volleyball game in the sports competition.

By the way, Saikachi-san and Kokonoe-san are participating in the women's tennis.

"Please come and support us in our tennis matches."

 "We'll give our best too."

"Oh, please give your best, both of you."

Although they have completely different personalities, Saikachi-san and Kokonoe-san seem to get along well, somehow.

Hello, we have other project about someone who has returned from an isekai. The main character is a hero who has defeated the Demon Lord. However, for some reason, the human-demon war has resumed and will take place in the MC's original world. The MC, unaware of this, meets a Saint from that world and asks them to join the war. But what does the MC say? They refuse. Is it because their love was rejected by the princess when they adventured together in the past or are they simply fed up? And are the MC will join later? You can find out by clicking on the following => [Link]

We also have a similar genre returned from isekai but has different MC's characteristic. The story is punishing someone who troll in SNS, someone who cheat and many more. You can find out in => [Link]
