Chapter 30 Necromancer (Part Two)

Chapter 30 Necromancer (Part Two)

(But Baron Belmrich's attack cannot end like this)

Based on my experience from previous loops, I knew very well how formidable this necromancer was. It's not just about having strong magic power, it goes beyond that.

"Oh, it's your first time using a magic weapon, yet you handle it quite well. How about this then?"

Baron Belmrich raised his right hand and snapped his fingers. And from the bushes behind him emerged... humans. Of course, their vacant eyes and dark complexion made it clear that they were dead. However, they still retained a significant portion of their original form. They were probably the bodies of adventurers who arrived here before us.

Morimura and Tsubasa hesitated. It's only natural. They had just arrived in this world. It's not something ordinary people would easily do, attacking humans.

"So, you still can't attack humans? You still have a long way to go."

 Unded adventures are attacking.

They have recently died, so their muscles and tendons haven't rotted.

That's why they move quickly, and they closed the distance in no time.

 Morimura and Tsubasa hesitated.

 But I quickly stepped forward.

I swiftly decapitated the undead adventurer in front of me.

The second one, I pierced its brain through the eyes, and the third one, I pierced its medulla oblongata through its open mouth with my sword.

This sword doesn't have significant magic attributes yet, but its sharpness is excellent.

"Oh, it seems there are some who understand combat a little bit."

Baron Belmrich's tone implied a slight reconsideration.

His condescending tone ignited my anger.

"Morimura, Tsubasa, the opponent is undead. They're already dead! Defeat them without hesitation! In fact, being forced to fight until death is more unfortunate for them!"

Perhaps my shout brought them back to their senses, as both Morimura and Tsubasa began to attack the undead adventurers.

"Shimura, Kondo, I'm relying on the two of you for guard duty!"

I gave the instruction and ran towards Baron Belmrich.

In reality, the chances of me winning right now are low, but if that guy underestimates me and lets his guard down, there might be a chance.

Because the necromancer is weak in close combat.

(If I can just get close, then...)

But when I saw the opponent standing in front of me, my movements stopped.

 "Kuriyama..."

The one who appeared in front of me was Kuriyama, the delinquent who died protecting the girls in this marshland.

Seeing me stop, Kuriyama swung his sword at me.

I jumped back to avoid it.

 "Kuriyama..."

I called out that name again.

His eyes rolled back, and with his mouth wide open, he walked towards me defenselessly, his purple tongue hanging out.

And he swung his sword with force.

Avoiding it was all I could do.

Honestly, my sword skills have become quite formidable. I have the confidence that I am better than the average swordsmanman, and I won't lose to amateur classmates.

But facing a sword swung directly from me without fear of getting hurt and without defending themselves is not easy. Swordsmanship is the skill of cutting the opponent without getting cut oneself. Moreover, Kuriyama, who hasn't been dead for long, is quick and strong. I was gradually starting to retreat.

"Oh my, can't fight against a friend, huh? If that's the case, you're not even fit to be a playmate. Let me kill you here and train you as an undead."

Baron Belmrich laughed as if mocking me. But what he said was true. I don't want to hurt Kuriyama if I can help it.

(Oh no, if I keep retreating like this, everyone will be in danger.)

Kuriyama's sword, with its relentless force, slashes across my chest. I narrowly avoid it, but my uniform buttons are torn off.

 "Akito!"

Tsubasa shouts, reminding me of the battle with Kiridani earlier.

(That's right, if I hesitate here, Tsubasa or Morimura will have to deal with Kuriyama. I can't let Tsubasa go through that again!)

I switch my mindset. Kuriyama raises his sword high above his head. Seizing the opportunity, I graze his left leg with a swift cut. Kuriyama, with his thigh muscle severed, loses his balance.

In that moment, I swing my sword from below, lifting it up to save his sword-wielding right hand. His hand, still gripping the sword, falls to the ground with a thud. Ignoring the fact that he has been cut, Kuriyama, the undead, bends down to pick up his sword. I bring my sword down upon his neck from above, like an executioner. Kuriyama's head falls, followed by his body collapsing with a loud thud. Strong in attack but weak in defense, it's the weakness of a undead.

 "...Belmrich..."

The anger within me that I couldn't contain escapes my mouth involuntarily. But he spreads his palms in front of him and says in a joking tone,

"Oh, scary, scary. That's quite the murderous intent, isn't it?"

As I prepare my sword and try to approach Baron Belmrich, he laughs again and says,

"But is it okay? Before you point your sword at me, don't you have something you must do? Are your friends okay?"

Suddenly, everyone turns their gaze towards the frozen stone chamber. Shimura and Kondo Shuichi are cutting down the undeads that are approaching Morimura and Tsubasa, protecting Ito-san who cannot fight. Fukui's whereabouts cannot be seen. Did he get taken down?

They are fighting with their backs against the stone chamber they came out of. I didn't particularly think it was dangerous.

 But...

The door of that stone chamber opened. And the ones who appeared from within... were Igaki and Kiridani! Igaki has multiple swords sticking out of his body, and Kiridani has an arrow still stuck in his chest.

 "Tsubasa, Morimura, behind!"

I shouted. But it was too late. Igaki thrust the sword straight out. Ito-san was pierced from behind by the sword. There was no time to even scream. She spits blood from her mouth. Tsubasa, Morimura, Shimura, Kondo Shuichi, all looked at it in astonishment.

 "Ito-san!"

I dashed back to everyone. The four were suddenly confronted by the appearance of classmates who should have been dead. Morimura, in that state, was attacked by Kiridani's undead.

 (Oh no!)

Morimura's weapon is an attack magic. There's no way to deal with enemies at close range right now.

 "Morimura!"

I shouted. But Morimura stood still like a frog stared down by a snake. Kiridani raised the sword overhead and then swung it down. Clang! A sharp sound of metal hitting metal. It was Shimura's battle-axe that just managed to stop the sword from hitting Morimura.

 "Jun, stop!"

 Shimura shouted.

But there's no way it would reach Kiridani, who had turned into a undead.

On the other hand, I pulled out a sword from Ito-san and attacked Tsubasa.

But at that moment, I reached the front of the stone chamber.

I protected Tsubasa and engaged in a battle with Iigaki.

Iigaki had a large body and was the strongest in the grade.

Even as a undead, his sword strikes were dangerously powerful when received directly.

I fought against Iigaki, while Shimura fought against Kiriyama.

Shimura hesitated in his attacks, knowing that Kiriyama was someone he was close to.

 But I shouted,

"Tsubasa, Morimura! Don't let the undeads get any closer! Kondo, guard the two of them! Shimura, don't think of your opponent as Kiriyama, but as a undead!"

While shouting that, I defended against Iigaki's attacks while protecting Tsubasa.

But both Iigaki and Kiriyama had just died, so their movements remained unchanged.

Iigaki was the strongest in the grade, and Kiriyama had top-class athletic ability.

Both Shimura and I were having a hard time dealing with them.

(Damn, there's no time to waste)

I swung the sword that Igaki held tightly in his right hand with all my strength.

I aimed for his right arm at that moment.

I cut off the part of Iwagaki's right arm beyond the elbow.

(Alright, if I aim for this guy's neck...)

But at that moment, I overlooked something important.
