Chapter 52 Cave Temple Of The Black Forest (Part Four)
Inside the box were red and blue magic stones.
"That's right. These are magic stones that can be attached to the Five-Leaf Sword (Goyouken)."
The Five-Leaf Sword is not just an ordinary sword with exceptional sharpness. By inserting magic stones into the revolving cylinder located at the end of the handle, it becomes a sword that can use various magic. The basic elements are fire, water, wind, earth, and wood.
However, I have only used fire, water, and wind so far. The magic stones placed in the cylinder can be used to switch between different magic spells just by pulling the trigger located in front of the grip.
"That's great. With this, I can even defeat flying monsters!"
When I said that, the Head Shrine Maiden, Chiyome, nodded in agreement.
"Please, defeat the monsters and save Shizuru with this."
I immediately took the magic stones in my hand and loaded them into the cylinder. There are five loading slots in the cylinder, but only two are filled at the moment. I rotated the cylinder to select the fire magic attribute. The upper part of the handle turned red.
"I'll head out. Everyone, focus on defending this area!"
With those words left behind, I dashed out of the rocky cave. Shizuru ran off to the left to draw the orcs' attention.
As soon as I exited the rocky cave, the monsters surrounded me. Lizardmen, frogmen, earth spiders, giant poison slugs, and humanoid monsters with jellyfish heads.
"They're underestimating a lone human."
I smirked and waited for more monsters to gather around me. Before long, gargoyles and wyverns gathered overhead.
"Is it time?"
I infused power into the Five-Leaf Sword. The blade glowed red, spewing flames.
"Ha!"
With a spirited shout, I leapt at the monsters. With one swing of the Five-Leaf Sword, several monsters were incinerated at once. The fire attribute of the Five-Leaf Sword extended to the range of the flames, serving as an extension of the blade.
In no time, more than twenty monster corpses lay around me. Furthermore, the monster corpses were engulfed in flames, leaving no mess behind. Perhaps realizing that they were at a disadvantage in a ground battle, the wyverns and gargoyles attacked from above.
(Do they think the sword can't reach them? Unfortunately, that's a mistake.)
I swung the sword upwards with determination. The flames extended from the Five-Leaf Sword, cutting through several wyverns in the air. The charred wyvern pieces fell apart.
I looked up at the sky. The gargoyle seemed to be resilient to fire, still flying.

I pulled the trigger in front of the grip. The cylinder rotated, and the upper part of the hilt turned blue. I could use water attributes now.
"Hyah!"
I swung the Five-Leaf Sword towards the gargoyle. Ice spikes shot out from the sword, hitting the gargoyle. The gargoyle was covered in ice and fell to the ground. The gargoyle, now an ice-covered mass, crashed to the ground and shattered into pieces.
The monsters, terrified by my (or rather, the Five-Leaf Sword's) immense power, panicked and fled. The worries about the Cave Temple Temple were now gone.
(Now, where is Shizuru?)
I look around.
She is not in sight.
(No way, did she go into the forest?)
I run in the direction she fled. Entering the forest, I shout her name, "Shizuru!"
"Akito!"
I hear her voice calling for help. I run towards the direction of the voice.
Soon, I see the figures of ten orcs. The orcs are surrounding something, looking down. In the center, there is Shizuru, with her clothes mostly torn off. She is covering her chest with both hands, and her legs are tightly closed. The scene from earlier resurfaces in my mind.
"You bastards!"
Anger wells up within me. The orcs turn towards me. I flash the Five-Leaf Sword. Ice spikes pierce through the orcs' legs. Immediately, the orcs' legs freeze.
"Grrr"
"What, is, this?"
"I'm not, moving!"
The ice magic unleashed by the Five-Leaf Sword allows me to change the range of freezing depending on my will. I froze only the six creatures in front of me. I jumped into the center of the orcs and, without using magic, cut the muscles of the limbs of only three of the remaining four. The three immobilized orcs fell to the ground on the spot.
The remaining one is the largest orc boss. In his hand, he is clutching the clothes that Shizuru was wearing, which have already become mere tattered cloth.
"What's wrong? Can't move, huh?"
I sewed the orc boss's leg to the ground with an ice stake, and in an instant, I cut the tendons of both arms.
"Now you can't move either."
I pointed the tip of my sword at the orc boss's throat.
"You, bastard..."
I took off the uniform jacket I had on and threw it to Shizuru, who was squatting on the ground.
"For now, put that on. Our revenge against them starts from there."
There was a feeling that Shizuru was putting on her jacket behind me. And now, I asked the Orc Boss.
"On the way here, there were traces of a campfire. Was that your campfire?"

I pulled the trigger four times and set the attribute of the Five-Leaf Sword to fire again. I aimed at one of the orcs who was lying down, his muscles cut.
"First one."
Flames erupt from the tip of the sword.
"Oinkkk...!"
While giving a cry that resembles a pig, the orc was engulfed in flames.
"Oh, if I just grill it with high heat, the carefully roasted pork will be ruined. I need to roast it slowly over low heat."
I point the sword at the second orc. The flames emitted from the sword this time began to burn the lower body of the orc.
"Oinkk! Oinkk! Oinkk! Oinkkkk!"
The orc emitted intermittent screams as it was engulfed in flames. The third orc met the same fate as the second one. The orc boss watching this, along with the six orcs whose feet were frozen, broke out in a cold sweat.
"Is it the turn of the frozen pork next?"
When I said that, Shizuru in a jacket stopped me.
"Wait. Let me take care of them."
When I turned around,
"I want to avenge my comrades, Izuna and Sally."
Shizuru said this to me, his eyes filled with angry tears.
"Got it. I'll leave it to you."
Then, Shizuru threw the kunai she had gathered at the orc's belly. The kunai pierced the bellies of the six orcs. To the orc's short screams, Shizuru coldly declared,
"That kunai has been weakened with poison. But your belly will surely rot and you'll die. How much time do you have? Suffer and die with your organs rotting!"

Seeing such orcs, I said only one word, "Blaming each other is ugly." Of course, such excuses wouldn't convince Shizuru. Without even glancing at the orc underlings, I said.
"Shut up. Either way, you can't get rid of that poison. You guys will just rot to death slowly."
"Can't be..."
The orc underling let out a pitiful voice. Then, Shizuru spoke to the orc boss.
"You too. I can never forgive you. But first, I will personally inflict pain on you. I will gouge out every part of your body with this kunai knife!"
With overwhelming anger, Shizuru thrust the kunai knife into the orc boss's body.
"Pl-pleese, help meh"
With the screams of the orc boss, a cruel revenge began.
After finishing off the orcs, Shizuru and I returned to the Cave Temple. Most of the monsters had fled, and the remaining small fry monsters were being taken care of by the head shrine maiden, Chiyome's magic.
"Is it over?"
Chiyome said as we approached.
"Yeah, looks like everything's taken care of over here too."
I replied, looking around. Behind Chiyome, there were twelve women.
(So, eight more people have become sacrifices here.)
Perhaps due to the night-long battle, the women all had stern expressions, and Chiyome gazed at me.
"Thanks to you, we were able to survive. I'm truly grateful."
As I approached her, I breathed a sigh of relief and raised my right hand.

As I said that, something cold was pressed against my forehead. It was the barrel of a gun. Before I knew it, the shrine maiden, Chiyome, had pulled out a pistol-shaped matchlock gun and was pointing it at me.
