Volume 2 Chapter 4 In Search Of The Legendary Sword
I had received instructions from the holy knight, Lily, about the whereabouts of the 'legendary sword'.
"Located to the east from here is the Dragon Kingdom of Gadoreza. In the outskirts of the royal capital, there is said to be a legendary sword guarded by a high-level dragon."
"A legendary sword..."
"Its name is 'Refaid of the Light Dragon Emperor Sword'. It emits phosphorescent light and holds the power of the dragon—a mighty sword that might withstand Rain-sama's enhancement as well."
"I see..."
I nodded in agreement with Lily's explanation.
"That sword is guarded by a dragon, you said. Is it powerful?"
"Yes. No one has been able to defeat that dragon in the past three hundred years. No one has obtained the sword either."
"I can defeat that dragon... can't I?"
"I heard that your weapon defeated an intermediate-level dragon in a single blow. I think it should suffice even against an advanced opponent."
Lily said.
"For now, should I enhance a suitable weapon... but it'll probably break again, huh."
It would be troublesome if the sword broke before launching an attack.
Well, even the Copper Sword was able to withstand two hits, so a normal sword should be sufficient to fight with just one hit.
But wait.
How about preparing two swords, one with '+500' or '+1000' Strengthening points, and the other with the remaining Strengthening points?
I can use the first sword to fight against regular enemies along the way, and only use the second sword with the accumulated Strengthening points to defeat the dragon guarding the "Refaid of the Light Dragon Emperor Sword".
With this strategy, the possibility of breaking a sword during battles along the way is low.
When defeating the high-level dragon, I must be prepared to sacrifice one sword, so if I have another sword as a backup, I can handle the battles on the way there and back.
"Ah, I see. As expected of Rain-sama."
Listening to my story, Lily nods.

We rode in a carriage and traveled along the road.
When I looked out the window, I saw magnificent mountains and wide fields.
"Come to think of it... it's been a while since I enjoyed the scenery like this."
I was always busy working in the previous guild.
I would desperately defeat monsters and accumulate strengthening points to enhance the weapons and armor of the guild's adventurers.
All because I wanted to see the smiles on their faces. But...
