"Hey, I completed today's quest. Can you confirm it?"
"Welcome back, Rain-san. You're early again today."
"Well, it was close by, so I was able to find the monsters quickly."
"No wonder you're the ace of our guild."
"Being called an ace feels a bit awkward, you know... I'm not used to it."
I chuckled shyly.

Nina also smiled.

Mary, the receptionist from the next counter, laughed.
Nina and Mary are both seventeen years old.
Mary has red short hair and a charming face with freckles.
"Come visit my booth once in a while too, Rain-san."
Mary invited.
"For some reason, I always end up at Nina's booth. I guess I'm just used to it..."
"Well, Nina is excellent. If Rain-san is the guild's ace, Nina is the ace of the reception counter."
"That's not true, Mary-chan."
"Just the other day, when I was struggling with a question about the guild rules, you helped me from next door. I was amazed by your brilliant solution."
"Aw, don't make me blush."
Nina blushed, looking adorable.
"Because you always help me, you know. Thank you, thank you."
"Hehehe."
Their trivial exchange was heartwarming.
"Since you always rely on Nina, why don't you invite her to a meal, Rain-san?"
"A meal?"
I was a little taken aback by the sudden suggestion.
"I think Nina would be happy."
"H-Hey, Mary-chan..."
"That's right. We've always relied on each other."
Fortunately, or rather, I had much more money than I initially expected.
There's no need to treat Nina.
"Hehehe, successful covering fire for Nina."
"Covering fire?"
