We cut our leveling plans short and hurried back to Voltana's town to check the situation. We entered the adventurer's guild to get the lowdown.
"Seriously, what's going on in the dungeon!?"
At the counter, the receptionist muttered while sitting on a chair.
She must have received numerous reports from adventurers about the changes in the dungeon.
'Suddenly, orcs are popping up everywhere! Something's definitely not right!'
'People who just left town came back right away, and there are ogres and skeletons wandering around the upper layer!'
'If things are this bad, maybe we should move to a different town?'
Inside the guild, people were exchanging information about the dungeon and others were visibly shaken after encountering the situation, creating a chaotic scene.

"I'm going outside of town to defeat those monsters."
If what Gaston says is true, then if I can defeat those monsters, this commotion should settle down.

The receptionist stopped me as I tried to leave the guild.
"You're Level Cap 1, right!? You're like going to be defeated!"
"Level Cap 1...? I see. So, Ark, you're the rumored adventurer."
Gaston seemed to understand the receptionist's words.

The other adventurers began attacking the monsters that passed by us all at once.
Some of them are adventurers with a rank higher than C, and there were even those who defeated the ogres with magic.
"At this rate, we can protect the town!"
All that's left is to find the commander leading the horde, and everything will be fine.

Just as I thought that, a particularly loud roar echoed through the area.

Suddenly appearing behind the large group was a giant, four-legged monster entirely black in color.
Its head was that of a lion, staring straight at us.
Right behind it, protruding from its back, was the head of a goat.
And where its tail should have been, only a bone snake writhed, opening and closing its mouth.
Adventurers call this kind of monster a Chimera.
"A-A Black Chimera...!? Why is an A-Rank class monster in a place like this!?"
At that moment, I clearly realized.
That this monster was causing this phenomenon, and that it was the commander leading the large group of monsters.
