Afterward, we discussed our plans for tomorrow and beyond, and I said goodbye to Yukina-sama in front of the guild. I stood there, watching his back disappear into the crowd, feeling a sense of urgency.
Today, I realized there were so many things I needed to reflect on. I felt like I failed not only as a guide but also as a servant. If I continue like this, it's only a matter of time before I disappoint Yukina-sama.
To clear my mind, I knew I had to train. By emptying my heart and practicing my moves for a night, I could get rid of unnecessary emotions.

I know that Yukina-sama moved to Kyunei-sensei's clinic when he was promoted to 4th rank. He must be heading there after completing the request.
So, I visited Kyunei-sensei's clinic, but unfortunately, Yukina-sama hadn't returned yet.
"I'm sorry for the trouble. Yukina-kun said he has some errands today, so he'll be a little late."

Kyunei-sensei, who greeted me, apologized, but I shook my head.
"Well then, I'll be on my way."
It's a shame I couldn't give it to Yukina-sama right away, but as I said, it's not an urgent matter.
And── it's not really good for me to see Kyunei-sensei right now. I know she's not at fault for anything, but sometimes I can't help but feel strange emotions when I'm around her.

I turned around to leave the clinic, but Kyunei-sensei stopped me.

I was pushed by her smiling enthusiasm, and ended up accepting Kyunei-sensei's invitation.
I hadn't stepped foot in this clinic since the day I came to visit Yukina-sama when he was brought in. After he recovered, I never came back.
"So, is Yukina-kun being reckless? That person always says safety first, but sometimes he does really crazy things, so I'm a little worried."

Even though there were things about Yukina-sama, Kyunei-sensei was a very approachable person. Before I knew it, I was enjoying talking with her.
I thought Kyunei-sensei was really good at listening and could tell when I wanted to talk. Maybe it's an important skill for doctors to have when talking to patients.
And then there's Kyunei-sensei's appearance. Even as someone of the same gender, her feminine gestures sometimes make my heart beat faster. All of these things made Kyunei-sensei seem like an attractive person.
I also know that I have good looks compared to others. I'm not so clueless that I don't notice the curiosity from the opposite sex and the envy or jealousy from the same sex. But when compared to the woman in front of me, my looks pale in comparison.
And most importantly, every time Yukina-sama is brought up, Kyunei-sensei's face becomes so kind that even I, as a woman, can't help but be captivated. It's clear that Kyunei-sensei truly cares about Yukina-sama.
Kyunei-sensei is really a wonderful person.
So, because of that, I start feeling really bad about myself for being jealous of her. I can't genuinely wish Yukina-sama happiness anymore.
"Oh, by the way, Mikage-san, can I ask you something?"
"...What is it?"
Out of the blue, Kyunei-sensei asks me, while I'm feeling down inside.
"Do you like Yukina-kun, Mikage-san?"
"..........Huh?"
──It was such a light-hearted question, considering that she is Yukina-sama's lover.
