Volume 6 Chapter 6 The Strongest Guild On The Continent
The five strongest guilds on the continent are collectively known as the "Big Five."
Originally, it was a nickname coined by adventurers, but now it has become a title bestowed by the Guild Federation.
"Welcome to our guild, Rain-dono. We have heard of your reputation from Lily."
When I visited the "Shield of the Holy Emperor," the Guild Master himself greeted me.
He was an elderly man, around seventy years old.
"Thank you for your hospitality. My name is Rain Garland."
I bowed to the elderly Master.
"And you must be Martina-dono... The most promising candidate for the next hero in the Kingdom of Uralis..."
"I am honored."
Martina nodded.
"Wow, Martina, you're quite famous."
"The thing about heroes is that only those in the know know about it. It's not a very common topic."
Martina said.
"So, what brings you to our guild?"
"I actually have a matter to discuss with Lily──"
We briefly discussed the Light Dragon King.
Martina thought it would be okay to talk to the Guild Master of 'Shield of the Holy Emperor'.
"Understood. Unfortunately, Lily is currently on a monster hunting quest, but she should be back soon."
And, Master.
"As soon as she returns, I will get in touch with you. Can you stay in the guild facilities or nearby until then?"
After the meeting with the Master, we walked through the 'Shield of the Holy Emperor' building.
Unlike the 'Blue Crystal,' this guild's building is incredibly large and spacious.
It's almost like a small castle.
As expected, it's no wonder that they're positioned as one of the strongest guilds on the continent for decades.
"Lily-san is the ace of this guild, right? Must be quite busy, huh?"
"Yeah. We should have made an appointment..."
I let out a small sigh.
"It was a sudden request, so we'll just have to wait. Guild Master-san said he'll contact us when she gets back."
Martina said.
But then,
"Lily Frambell is the ace of the guild?"
A giant man, easily over two meters tall, approached us.
"What a joke! The ace of the guild is me, Maizel-sama, the 'Raging Wave Great Axe'! Treating that kid as the ace is just unpleasant!"
He suddenly accused us.
"Oh, you seem quite angry. I understand the reason..."
Martina said with a smug look.
"Understand? I just told you the whole reason."
"This insight── Truly impressive, right, Rain-kun? That's what makes a hero candidate."
"Yeah, I guess."
Well, Martina just wanted to show off.
"Rain? I heard Guild Master greeting some other adventurers earlier... So, you're the famous Rain Garland, huh?"
"Huh? I'm famous?"
"...Lily seems to be really impressed by you."
Maizel explained with an unamused expression.
"From what I can see, you don't look that strong. Does Lily have bad judgment, or maybe... is she spreading rumors because she has a crush on you?"
He smirked.
"Well then, let me test you. Let's see if I, Maizel Zollreiber-sama, an S-rank adventurer, can be impressed by your power."
Hmm, looks like I've gotten involved with a troublesome person.
For now, I'll just use some random enhancement items to neutralize this guy and make sure he doesn't get hurt.
