Martina led me to a place that resembled an armoury.
There were numerous swords, spears, shields, and armor lined up around us.
"What's up with you guys?"
A man who had been staring at a sword in the corner of the room turned around.
He seemed to be in his fifties, a middle-aged man.
"I'm busy working right now."
The man glared at us.
He appeared displeased and somewhat angry.
"This is Albert-san, the palace-appointed appraiser."
Martina introduced him.
"It's my job to examine the abilities, effects, and authenticity of weapons, armor, and items, among other things."
"Wait, so you can appraise everything here?"
"Of course. I'm the only one responsible for appraising the items gathered from all over Uralis."
Albert-san said, and continued.
"I don't have time to waste talking to you. If you have no business, leave."
"Actually, we came because we have something we want you to look at."
I stepped forward in front of him.
Then, I offered him the sword in its sheath hanging from my waist.
"Oh?"
Albert-san's eyebrows twitched.
He seemed interested.
"'Refaid of The Light Dragon Emperor Sword'... huh?"
"Yes."
"Well, there's no need to appraise it. It's undoubtedly a legendary sword. The real deal."
That's what Albert-san said.
"Well, are you done with your business? Then leave."
"But wait, Albert-san, listen to our story too."
Martina chuckled.
"You're making a face like you want to see more swords. You're trying to act grumpy, but you're actually in a good mood, aren't you? I can tell."
She said, wearing her usual confident expression.
"Shut up, noisy girl."
"Hehehe, hit the nail on the head."
Even though Albert-san seemed a bit annoyed, Martina continued to smile.
"Seriously..."
On the other hand, Albert-san seemed a little embarrassed.
"Anyway, show me the sword again. This time, I'll 'appraise' it."
――With that said, I had Albert-san take a look at the sword.
'Appraisal' is the ability to see the abilities and attributes of the subject, as the name suggests.
Even though it's called 'appraisal', what the user can see and what the target is can vary.
In Albert-san's case, it seems to be a skill specialized in 'inanimate objects' such as weapons, armor, and items.
Therefore, he can't see things like human skills or stats.
Instead, he has an exceptional ability to obtain detailed information about weapons, armor, and such.
"This one is――!"
Albert-san's eyes widened as he looked at the 'Refaid Sword' he drew from its sheath.
"It's definitely a sword on the same level as 'Faiza the Skyrend Sword'... but something's different!? This one――it's unbelievably enhanced... What is this?!"
"I am an enchantment magician, so I poured Strengthening points into that sword."
I explain.
"Okay, even with enhancements, this is no ordinary level."
Albert-san's voice trembled.
