Volume 8 Chapter 6 The Holy Knight And The Hero Candidate, Part One
Lily held the 'Miraafa the Crimson Phoenix Sword', while Martina held the 'Faiza the Skyrend Sword'.
The enemy was one of the subordinates of the Light Dragon King - the '7 Dragon Knights' called Redgulf.
Redgulf was a dragon-human hybrid, about 4 m tall (13 ft), with the head of a dragon and the body of a human.
"Margaret, stay back. The opponent seems tough."
"No way! I can do it too!"
Margaret protested.
"I want to be useful too, for Lily-senpai."
"I know how strong you are."
Lily shook her head.
"But the opponent is a subordinate of the Light Dragon King, a powerful class. That's why..."
She looked at Margaret.
"Just focus on support. The frontline will be handled by me and Martina-san."
"Support, huh?"
Margaret nodded.
She was the only magic swordsman at the party.
It seemed like she would have to fight with magic instead of using her sword in this situation.
"If that's the case, leave it to me!"
"That's good."
She nodded and turned her gaze back to Redgulf.
"So, let's work together as the vanguard. Martina-san."
"Got it."
Martina smiled.
"I'm left out."
Mirabell murmured quietly.
"Oh, then should I assign you a role?"
"Hmm, the opponent looks strong."
"Huh?"
"I think I'll pass after all."
Mirabell said expressionlessly.
"I'll be watching from a safe place."
"Weren't you complaining earlier...?"
"I acted like I was left out, feeling left behind."
"I- see..."
Lily looked at Mirabell with a puzzled expression.
She still couldn't quite understand Mirabell's character.
"Hmm, I'm someone who doesn't want to do dangerous things. I'll be supporting from the sidelines."
"W-well, I guess it's okay..."
Lily had a determined look on her face.
That being said, she heard that Mirabell is an assassin.
It's true that her skills are difficult to utilize in a direct confrontation.
"Anyway, let's go with the three of us: me, Martina-san, and Margaret."
And then, the battle began.
"You humans!"
Redgulf approached, his footsteps resounding heavily.
He didn't seem to be wary of them.
"...Or rather, it feels like he's underestimating us."
Martina said.
"Like he thinks there's no way he would lose to humans?"
"Well then, shall I tell him――"
Lily stepped forward.
"That there are humans stronger than dragons!"
