Chapter 66 Evening Stroll?
'Kuu?'
"Yeah, all set."
"Me too."
'Kuu.'
Centrena started walking at a leisurely pace.
'Kuu?'
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"I-I'm okay too."
She began running a little faster in response to our words. Despite looking like she was just "lightly running," she was moving at more than twice the speed of a horse, yet hardly swaying.
Centrena spread her wings gracefully. Though not very long, her wings were neatly aligned and beautiful. I wonder if the area we're sitting on is around the front of her shoulders?
We bounced a little and felt a gentle floating sensation.
"Oh, this is what it feels like to glide."
'Kuu.'
"I-Is that so?"
"Yeah. Oh, Rosalier-san, you don't mind heights, do you?"
"Yes. If I were asked if I like or dislike them, I think I'd say I don't dislike them."
Did she not go to high places enough to say she like them? I know about tall buildings, towers, overpasses, and airplanes, but maybe people here don't experience that as much.
Huh? Is flapping her wings slowly like lightly flapping them? Just that alone makes me feel like the altitude has increased a bit. It's amazing, it never falls to the ground no matter how much time passes.

Silently and gradually, Centrena increasing the altitude, and before I knew it, it had reached a height where I could easily overlook the stable.
"Look, Rosalier-san. Look down."
"Yes... Oh? I heard that Centrena-san is not good at flapping wings."

Centrena glides smoothly, flapping her wings over and over again. It feels more effortless than powerful. It looks like the altitude is gradually increasing, slowly but surely.

So, this child does understand our language. Well, she might even be older than me.
"Is it possible to land over there?"

Silently, the altitude decreases. There are large buildings along the lake, with smaller buildings on the grounds.

With a swoosh, Centrena landed smoothly, finally coming to a stop without sudden braking. It's like the retaining wall Rosalier-san and I climbed before. About the second level, with a width of about three meters.
It's getting dark around here, so Centrena and Rosalier-san don't stand out much. But am I the only one who can see a little light even in the darkness?
"Centrena-san, could you please crouch down?"

Rosalier-san stops after we walk a little further. She turns around and beckons me.
"Can you see it from here?"

To the left is a lake, and if we climb up the embankment on the right, we'll be further away from the mansion in between. Rosalier-san points to a channel-like structure where something is flowing. It's hard to see in the dark, but the surface is shimmering and rippling, so I'm sure it's the right place.
"There is a small reservoir ahead. There, two of those Magic Tools are submerged."
Ah, I see. So that's where the 'Magic Stone Neutralization Magic Tool' is.
"Well, let's go."
"Yes, I will guide you."
At the bottom of the stairs, we turned right and walked along what looked like a footpath that was less than 1 meter wide. About 20 meters ahead, I can see a square reservoir about two meters in size.
Is this the reservoir that Rosalier-san mentioned? Certainly, the waterway does not extend beyond this point. Rainwater seems to have accumulated, and it looks just like the large grating installed in the reservoir she was talking about.
"Here it is."
Rosalier restrains me with her right hand, raises her left index finger, and chants something "mumble mumble". Holding a thin rod in her left hand, light shines at its tip, illuminating the inside of the reservoir.

About 50 centimeters below the collection tank, there was a water surface. Below that, about 2 meters deep, I could see two submerged box-shaped objects. If it's this deep, it must be a reservoir.

I returned along the path I came, back to Centrena.

Centrena's voice sounds like she's asking, "Is it okay now?"
"Yeah. It's over, so I'm thinking of going back. Rosalier-san, can you go ahead and get on?"
"Ah, yeah, sorry."
Hmm, it's still lingering. Maybe it would be better for me to go out for a drink today too.
