Chapter 68 The Value of Magic Stones

Chapter 68 The Value Of Magic Stones

After that, we ate at the dining room on the first floor and decided to go back to my room and see if I could disassemble the magic tools. Rosalier-san was a little stressed out, so she decided to take her mind off of it at a tavern.

 "Are you sure?"

 "We became friends, you know?"

That night, Rosalier-san made friends with Mesaja-san, the tavern clerk, and Julienne-san, the guild receptionist. The next morning, she told me that although she were more than twice their age, they had one thing in common: a love of liquor, and they hit it off overnight.

Well, if she goes to that store, she will definitely be able to release her stress, and there will be things she can only talk about with other women. Rosalier-san, who was mentioned earlier, was particularly depressed. So I felt like I couldn't leave her alone.

'If I were a "riajuu" (someone with a fulfilling real life), what would I do in a situation like this?' I wonder, but I don't know what I should do. For me, I used to drink liquor and just forget about things.

 "I see, I understand."

"You don't have to worry about liquor expenses because there is guild funds too."

"Well, I suppose you have a point... In that case, I'll take your advice and let it all out."

"Okay. Take care. I'll be here relaxing."

I saw Rosalier-san off. She must have made her first real friend. In real life, I didn't have many friends who would go out drinking with me. As soon as I got home, I cracked open a can of beer and logged into the MMO (online game)... Of course, I had friends in the game. I wonder how they're doing. I haven't been able to contact them or log in. I guess I did something bad...

Anyway, I said goodbye to Rosalier-san at the stairs leading to the first floor and went back into the room, locking the door behind me. As I sat down on the chair in front of the table, I noticed a piece of fabric that was left on the table. So, I took out the Magic Tool again and placed it on top of the fabric.

Now, whether I looked from above or peered through the gap where water seemed to come out from the side, I couldn't figure out how to access the inside. I have some experience building my own desktop PC, but I don't have the technical skills to dismantle something like this without any screws or anything.

It's definitely made of wood, isn't it? If it were made of metal, it wouldn't be this light. Since it's meant to be submerged in water, rust prevention would be difficult, and I don't think it's made of resin either. However, I'm certain that some kind of treatment has been applied to the surface of the wood. It wouldn't do any good if it rotted in the water, after all.

That Magic Tool that I mistook for a hot spring, continuously boiling the water and even circulating it, is the same. The Magic Tool in the fireplace in the mansion and the one for cooling in the kitchen are also the same. I never thought that the Magic Tool would rely on a magic circle to work.

When it comes to magic circles, there was that spellbook I borrowed from Risleyria-san. There was a magic circle inscribed on it called 'Pulse (Pulsating Assistive Spell)'. Although the spellbook itself may not be a magic tool, there might still be other magic circles that can replicate the same effect as magic.

The spellbook seemed to have a cloth-like exterior, but the inside was made of paper. However, the magic circle inscribed on this magic tool shouldn't be made of paper. Paper is originally a cluster of fibers, so if it were to be submerged in water for a long time, it would become mushy and fall apart, if not completely dissolve.

Oh, speaking of which, Fumihicho that I saw today is also like that. I think it's probably made of metal, not wood. Otherwise, the material that makes up the magic tool itself wouldn't be able to withstand the effects of speed, humidity, and all other forms of resistance.

So, like, is it that the magic circle is carved into the material itself, which seems to be made of wood? For example, using ink, or maybe a soldering iron. It could be carved and etched with something like a carving knife, or there might even be magic to engrave the magic circle.

Well, when it comes to Magic Tools, there's no point in me, a complete amateur, saying anything. I'm supposed to show it to Privia-san and Risleyria-san at the guild tomorrow. And it would be bad if it were to break, so I have to put it away.

I'll store the Magic Tool in the inventory and cross my arms to ponder a bit. 'Continuous Detoxification Magic Tool' huh... Come to think of it, in the village where Rosalier-san grew up, there was a mass of Oso (Dreadful element) seeping from the roots of that tree, wasn't there?

So I tried directly touching that thing called "Detoxy (detoxification)", but I didn't feel any change at all. If I consider that black slime-like substance to be concentrated Oso, then was it detoxified to some extent that it became invisible? If not, there's no way it could be given the name "Detoxification" on the Magic Tool, right?

At the very least, I don't think there's any mistake in the system of the "Display Self-Status" that I always have displayed. There may have been some bugs due to some cause, but otherwise, I wouldn't be able to explain that hexadecimal problem.

Anyway, it's been about 30 minutes since Rosalier-san went out for a drink, right? Mesaja-san should be there at least, so they should be able to have good liquor and enjoyable conversation. Time-wise, Julienne-san should have arrived by now too, well, I don't know if it's everyday--oh, right, she's a guild owner. There's a possibility that she's using my account, so if it's clear that it's free liquor, then she would definitely come.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. This knocking style, I don't think it's Rosalier-san.

"May I ask who is calling?"

 "Today was enjoyable, wasn't it?"

 Ah, it's Seteas-san.

"You know, I'm the only one here. How am I supposed to enjoy myself?"

"I understand. It's because the lovely maid, no, secretary Rosalier-san asked me to greet you a while ago."

"Oh, did I make her feel uneasy?"

"No, it's nothing out of the ordinary."

"No, it's not about you, Seteas-san."

"Oh, I understand. You're always quite cold, aren't you?"

 "Hahaha"

"Hahaha... My wife will be working as the receptionist, so I'll be in the dining room. Would you like to have a drink together?"

"Huh? But there's no liquor in the dining room."

"If it's from my personal collection, it's fine."

 "Ah, I see."

"I also had some snacks prepared, how about it?"

"Well then, I'll accept your invitation."

 "Yes, I'll be waiting."

 "Thank you, Seteas-san."

 "You're welcome."

I was surprised. About Milenoa-san, Seteas-san's wife. The food at the dining hall and these snacks have a light and mild flavor, but surprisingly, they go well with liquor. I didn't want to just keep being treated, so I also took out some liquor I had in stock and we ended up leisurely drinking.

Seteas-san is a friend who is close to my age. Plus, he's Risleyria-san's nephew. As fellow members being taken care of by the guild, it's nice to get along.

 "Well then, cheers."

"Yes, please continue to take care of me. Cheers."

 "The feeling is mutual."

* * *

The next morning, when I went to pick up Rosalier-san who still hadn't come out even though it was time, I encountered her looking as if it were the end of the world.

"I'm sorry. It's just, you know."

It must have been fun. It's actually harder when someone holds back.

"It's okay. Here, let me help you."

 "I'm sorry."

'Detoxify' can cure a hangover in an instant. It's like cheating, right? As for me? I had it before going to bed, you know, 'Detoxify'.

  4. Another project revolves around the MC whose heroines aspire to become his mother instead of his lover. Read this unusual story here.
  5. Our latest work also into the genre of Second Life. It's about the story of a former s*x worker who wants to avoid loneliness and find fulfillment in his second life. Experience his conflicts and resolutions as the protagonist progresses. Read it on here.
  6. Additionally, we have a worth-to-read project about someone who has returned from an isekai. The main character is a hero who has defeated the Demon Lord. However, for some reason, the human-demon war has resumed and will take place in the MC's original world. The MC, unaware of this, meets a Saint from that world and she asks him to join the war. But what does the MC say? He refuses. Is it because his pas love was rejected by the princess when they adventured together in the past, or is he simply fed up? Discover the answers by clicking here.

We hope you enjoy reading these works!
