Chapter 75 Intense Flavor
Centrena rests her chin on my head as I sit on the chair. It's not heavy, but it feels kinda warm. It's like she's being clingy, maybe she's even more alive than me and soothing me. Yeah, you can't tell by looks alone.
I line up five pieces of bread on a big plate, take out a knife, and make a cut in the middle. Then, I finely chop some root vegetables that have a crunchy texture without being too bitter, so that I can enjoy eating them too. I don't want to have too much meat, it's scary. On top of that, I sandwich a chunky, unseasoned skewer and lightly sprinkle some salt. And it's done!
"Alright, this should be fine. Woah."
When I turn around, Centrena is waiting with her mouth wide open. If I look closely, it looks like drool is about to spill out. How long has she been waiting?
I take out a towel from my inventory and wipe her mouth.
"Hey, Centrena. You're a girl, right?"
'Kuu?'
She tilted her head lightly and made a pretending-to-be-confused kind of voice. She's actually pretty smart, so maybe she's really pretending. Then she quickly opens her mouth wide and urges, "Kuh, kuh!"
"Yeah, yeah. Coming right up."
While Centrena is chewing with a really appetizing look, I bring out a deep bowl and puts in a little water. Of course, I got about two bottles of water for me to drink too.
She makes loud swallowing sounds that I can hear, and swallows the bread and meat.
'Kuuu.'
She opens her mouth wide again. So, I'll feed her again. She's about 2 m tall (6.562 ft). If you count the tail, she's about 3.5 meters long (11.48 ft). Even though she's this big, she's really friendly. She wasn't so friendly when Alesion was around, but I guess this is her natural personality.

This bread, it's a pretty big one, about 20 cm (7.874 inchs). Even if I eat just one, it really fills me up. After having a light meal of rice, I eat five of these, I wonder how much I've restrained myself.
"Good job, Tatsuma-sama."

I leave the remaining two pieces of bread with Rosalier-san.

She happily eats from Rosalier-san's hand. I'm glad she's getting used to her. When she finishes eating everything, I wipe her mouth with a towel.
I take out something from my inventory that looks like a big toothbrush or a giant body brush. I go behind Centrena and store the saddle in the inventory, then start brushing her back.
'Kuu...'
When you do this, the feathers become beautiful. I recently found it at a miscellaneous store and wanted to do this for her. Rosalier-san is gently stroking Centrena's chin with both hands. She seems to let out a pleasant sound.
"Oh, Centrena."
"She fell asleep, didn't she?"
While I was brushing her, she fell asleep while lying down. It seems like this place is warmed up with a magic tool, so it shouldn't get cold. To avoid waking her up, we decided to leave.
"See you tomorrow."
"Good night, Centrena-san."
Rosalier-san and I decided to stroke Centrena's back before leaving the stable.
After returning to the inn, entering the room, and going to the bathroom, I remembered. Oh yeah, Rosalier-san asked me to come down to the dining room later. I think it was about teaching Milenoa-san how to cook.
"Huh... It's great to have a bathtub."
I just got out of the bath and changed clothes before heading downstairs. This inn seems to use Magic Tools for heating all over the place, so both the hallways and rooms are warm. That's why I don't think I'll get cold from cooling off too quickly.
I came downstairs to the first floor, but huh? Seteas-san isn't at the reception desk. Maybe in the dining hall? Oh, I recognize that back.

He turned around, fork in hand, and looked this way. His expression looks like he's about to cry. I wonder what's wrong?
"Is something the matter?"
"This inn might have even more guests than before."

"Please look at this dish. Please eat it."
"Ah, it's Rosalier-san's cooking."
Yeah. The fish they're using might be different, but the smell and appearance are almost identical. It's the dish I had at the mansion, Rosalier-san's cooking.
"Sure. The flavor is deep and rich, you wouldn't think it's made with the same ingredients. I feel sorry for my wife, but it was really delicious."
"I think the basics haven't changed though."
"That's right."
"Oh, Rosalier-san."
Emerging from the kitchen was the focal point of the conversation, Rosalier-san.
"Yes. I provided the seasoning, but the dish was created by Milenoa-san."
I knew it. The presentation looked like it was from this inn. Rosalier-san just said she "taught" her.
"Is that so? Well, I'm delighted. To think I can taste this flavor at his place. I do like light dishes, but, you know, once you taste something rich like this, it's just so delicious..."
"I feel like I understand. But, you know, I heard that this kind of rich flavor is from the demon realm's seasoning."

Rosalier's cooking is more delicious, though.

"That's right. Well then, Itadakimasu."
Yeah, it's definitely a rich flavor, completely different from yesterday's.
This is probably river fish, right? Since the lake is nearby. It's mild, but the sauce is rich. And all the bones have been removed, so the tender texture is irresistible. There's also that slow-cooked diced meat and root vegetable stew I've had before. That's also really good, but it's Rosalier's seasoning.
It's a dish that goes well with liquor, but the bread is delicious. Oh, and when I said, "It's a little rude, but is it okay?" and looked at Rosalier-san, she was smiling wryly.

Why did he ask me to do it? Well, I guess it's because we're family, so that's just what you do.
So, with that in mind, I went back to my room. It was around 8:30 pm. I guess it's still okay to do a little work.
I took out the paper I got from the guild from my inventory. Grabbed a pen and my phone too. Huh? What's this?
