Volume 1 Chapter 42 Gathering Information At The Adventurer's Guild
After taking a full day of rest to recover their strength, the next day arrived.
We asked a passing adventurer party for directions while heading towards the Adventurer's Guild in Trasverum.
"Today, we're going to the guild to gather information about the northern dungeon, right?"
"Yeah, that's right. I don't know the exact location of the dungeon, nor do I know what kind of monsters appear there. So it's better to ask before we go."
As for Aquaflow Cavern, one of the remaining two dungeons with a key, we had never been there before, so we didn't know much about it.
That's why it would be a good idea to ask about what's known at the reception of the Adventurer's Guild in advance.
Following the instructions given by the previous adventurers, we reached the end of the main street, where they found a large mansion-like building.
Seeing multiple adventurer parties chatting outside, it seemed like that was the Adventurer's Guild.
The three of us decided to step inside together.
The inside of the building was a much fancier place than the Voltana Adventurer's Guild.
The floors and counters were polished clean, and the staff standing at the reception were well-dressed.
For a moment, I couldn't help but doubt if it was really an adventurer's guild, but there were also many adventurers and they were looking at the bulletin board on the wall covered with numerous requests. It was a scene I often saw in Voltana.
(Each town is so different...)
Trasverum seemed to be a city that valued cleanliness.
If there was a backstreet shop in this city, the shop owner might be taken away for the crime of not cleaning.
"It's a really beautiful place. I've only seen the Voltana Adventurer's Guild, but this facility with the same purpose doesn't seem like it."
"Oh yeah, I agree."
It seemed that Fatina had the same impression as me.
I wondered how Mel was feeling, so I glanced at her face, but she didn't seem to be particularly concerned.
She truly was a princess.
We walked up to the counter, and a woman who looked like she worked for the guild greeted us.
She had long, brown hair tied back and was wearing glasses, giving off a strong and professional impression.
"Welcome to the Trasverum Adventurer's Guild. My name is Sierra, and I am at the reception. Please feel free to let me know if there is anything I can assist you with."
Elvira, the receptionist at Voltana, seemed quite different from her in her manner and appearance.
I decided to talk to her to get information about the dungeon we wanted to visit.
"We arrived in this city from Voltana yesterday, and we are planning to visit a nearby dungeon. If you have any information about its location or anything else, please let us know."
"Understood. Please wait a moment."
Saying so, the receptionist Sierra took out a map from a table in the back and spread it out on the counter.
The map showed the area around Trasverum.
"The closest dungeon is located about a day's journey south by carriage from here, near the river."
The receptionist points to the location on the map.
It's not on the western side of the road we've been traveling, but on the eastern side.
On the map, there's a depiction of a large river, with the dungeon entrance nearby.
(It's quite far by carriage...)
The Emerald Green Dungeon is luckily within walking distance from Voltana, but the Aquaflow Cavern takes a considerable amount of time to reach from either Voltana or Trasverum.
We need to consider the transportation and the number of days for exploration.
"Also, be aware that there are monsters like goblins and orcs along the way."
"Got it. Is there any other information about this dungeon? Any special features you can tell me about?"
"Well... this dungeon constantly has water flowing from all over. Because of that, it seems that many water-related monsters inhabit it."
The Emerald Green Dungeon was filled with plants. So that means the Aquaflow Cavern is overflowing with water.
The ground, which is wet and muddy, can make it easy to get stuck. So we need to think about where to fight.
"What are water attribute monsters like?"
Fatina asked the receptionist because she was curious.
"If we're talking about the ones that appear in the upper layer, for example, there's the Poison Toad, a big frog-like monster with poison. This monster is ranked as D, so it's not too bad..."
"..."
Fatina and Mel looked like they really didn't want to fight that kind of monster.
"Are there a lot of monsters around here too?"
At least in the area near Voltana, there were a lot of monsters before we took over the Emerald Green Dungeon.
So I thought maybe the same is true for the area near Aquaflow Cavern, and I wanted to ask.
"Yes... According to the guild's data, there have been more monsters recently. So, we have a lot of requests related to monsters."
"Could it be that the number of monsters in the dungeon suddenly increased?"
I wanted to check if something like what happened in Voltana was happening again.

"It's because S-Rank adventurer Allen-sama's party is going to defeat them."
When the receptionist said that, Mel looked like she remembered something.

I remembered what Mel had said before.
Allen is exploring Aquaflow Cavern, and Balzark is exploring Inferno Pathway.
Allen's goal is to get the key in the lower layer, just like us.
If we meet, we might end up fighting.
The other party is S-Rank, so we can't take this lightly either.
"I understand, thanks. You saved me."
"Yes, be careful too."
With the information for now, we left the adventurer's guild.
